The ultimate drawn-out ending, an hour's worth of classic film endings mixed together

Is this an argument not to re-mix?

    hello michela,

my name is andrew eyman. i live in SF. i'm the artist who made 'the end" dvd.
i'm curious, how did you come across my video? have you seen it?
a clip may be seen on my site:

    homepage.mac.com/anynewdre...eater.html

i made this video in 2000, and no its not against remixing, cloning, appropriating, sampling, etc.
    i wanted to make a never-ending climax

i recently bought a 1958 philco predicta tv...and will soon get it restored!
it's been a goal of mine to have 'the end" playing on a predicta for an exhibition.

haven't really used this tribe thing for anything. how does it work? what do you do here?
    ciao - andrew

Hi Andrew, I think I came across a gallery where the video had been playing by searching for re-mixable films. You might be interested in Tracey Moffatt's video collage called LOVE that I saw last year. Similar ongoing climax, splicing together flicks.

i just saw LOVE recently at the warhol museum in pittsburgh. i think i saw it before at BAM in berkeley.

it doesn't do much for me. it's too rococo, whether or not i can spell it. i think simply seeing people before the fade out would be better.

there was another piece by a CMU student on display -- a videotape in which the artist staged reenactments of romance novel covers. man/woman in ridiculous clinch, keyed into some exotic scene. much more effective.
